Imagine a blanket covered in teeny tiny embroidered flowers. This mini flower could be one of them. It is very simple and works great for sprinkles of flowers or a mini hoop embroidery piece!

Stitch the stem

With straight stitches, embroider the stem and receptacle of the flower.

The bullion stitch

The “petals” are made of one single bullion stitch. Insert the needle where your thread exits the fabric.

Then, wrap your thread around the needle about 7-8 times. Depending on how wide your bullion stitch should be you can do more or less wraps. The wrapped area should be as wide as the gap you will cover with this stitch.

Slowly move the needle through the wrapped thread and pull it out while moving it to the right. Once your needle is out, pull the thread through until your bullion stitch sits right where you want it to be. Then, stick the needle into the fabric where your stitch ends (it’s on the right side here).
