contemporary embroidery patterns

Starting with embroidery is not as difficult as it may look if you choose the right pattern. Everybody has his/her own pace with catching up on techniques. We can’t measure the difficulty of a pattern with scientific terms, but a good rule of thumb is: the more stitches are used for a pattern, the more it will challenge your embroidery skills.

All of my contemporary embroidery patterns include basic information on how to embroider, the motif for printing and color numbers for DMC threads.

Embroidering mandalas can have a calming effect on the stitcher. The repeating shapes allow it to play with the colors and even practice a few new stitches.

Most of the mandalas are at beginner level. Each pattern aims to practice something new.

This is included:

  • pattern for printing (size differs with each pattern, about 17x17cm/6.69×6.69inch)
  • list of materials and tools
  • how to embroider the pattern

woodland embroidery patterns

Experiencing nature and the forest is the overarching theme for these patterns.

The embroidery patterns feathers and running horses are stitched using only one stitch. You can totally do these two as a beginner embroiderer.

For the woodland creatures and at the cabin you will need a little bit more practice. A couple of different stitches are used to create each pattern. I recommend practicing the basic embroidery stitches first before tackling these two patterns.

This is included:

  • the pattern for printing (size differs with each pattern, sized on DIN A4)
  • list of materials and tools
  • how to embroider the pattern
